[ Section 1 ]
  • Who needs Chiropractic care?
Chiropractic provides different benefits for different people, depending upon their individual health goals.
  • What are your health goals?
    1. To feel better (relief care)
    2. To heal your various ills (relief care)
    3. To prevent future illness (health care)
    4. To enhance quality of life (wellness care)

Each of these goals represents a step leading to the next level of health. The length of time that you choose to seek chiropractic depends upon which level of health you choose to achieve. If you are only interested in reaching the first level, relief, then you only need to receive care until your symptoms are better and the initial stage of healing is complete (typically 6-12 weeks.) Each additional level of health requires additional time an effort. You get out of life what you put into it. And the same is true for your health.
  • Does everyone start at the first level?
Spine and nerve malfunction usually results from years of stress ands strain to the spine. Unless you have been under regular chiropractic care recently, you probably need to start at the first level. In chiropractic this level I called initial intensive care (relief care).
  • How will I know when I am ready to move to the next level, health care?
With state of the art technology we can objective measure the positive changes and see when you have reached optimum results.
  • What is the final level?
The next and last level is called wellness care. By keeping the nerve system free of interference, wellness care helps to promote a more full and rich life filled with energy and vitality.
  • Who would benefit from seeing a chiropractor?
Chiropractic helps to restore and maintain the body ‘s inherent ability to heal itself and maintain health even if there are no symptoms. Regardless of what condition or symptoms individuals suffer from, they have a much better opportunity to recover if the healing power of their nervous system is working fully.
  • When is it appropriate to recommend someone to see a chiropractor?
Chiropractic is a neglected part of your health care team. It job is to monitor and maintain spinal hygiene. Unless your spine has been seen too regularly its time for a check up! If you want someone you care about to have the best opportunity to live a healthy life, the time is now. The sooner spine and nerve malfunction is improved, the better the chance of optimum recovery and health. Keep in mind, spine and nerve damage can occur without symptoms. Please refer others, so they too can experience the benefits of optimum spinal health.
  • How does chiropractic work?
We know that the Central Nervous System is the master control system coordinating every cell, tissue and organ in the body. Interfere with this you interfere with the body’s ability to regulate and function. Millions of instructions are sent down your spine out to your organs and body and then signals are sent in return to make sure the body is working right. Interfere with these signals (subluxation) and you disrupt health and healing. Only chiropractors are trained to detect and specifically adjust to restore proper nerve system function.
[ Section 2 ]
  • Do I have a pinched nerve?
A pinched nerve is rare. It is more likely that an adjacent spinal bone irritates stretches, rubs or chafes a nerve. These subluxations distort the nerve messages sent between the brain and body. This can produce unhealthy aberrant signals to the organs and tissues causing disease.
  • How do you get subluxations?
Overloads to your body’s ability to adapt to stress. Stress accumulates over time. There are three types of stress physical, chemical and emotional.
  • How do I know if I have a subluxation?
You can have subluxation and not even know it. Like the early stages of tooth decay or cancer, subluxations can be present before warnings signals appear. The result of a thorough examination can reveal the location and severity of subluxations you may have.
  • Can subluxations clear up on their own?
Sometimes. Many times during our normal activity our bodies are able to heal themselves. When they don’t is when you need to see a doctor of chiropractic.
  • What is an adjustment?
Only chiropractors are trained & qualified to administer an adjustment. An adjustment is a specific applications of forces used to facilitate the body’s correction of nerve inference (subluxation). Generally it is done gently with the doctor’s hands.
  • Are chiropractic adjustments safe?
Yes by a properly trained chiropractor. By avoiding drugs and risky surgery chiropractic care enjoys an excellent track record. Statistically adjustments are 100 times safer than over the counter pain relievers.
  • Will adjustments make my spine too loose?
No. Only the spinal joints that are “locked” receive adjustments. This allows weakened muscles and ligaments to stabilize and heal.
  • Are all patients adjusted the same way?
No. Each patient’s spine and care plan is unique. With 24 moving bones in the spine each of which can move in seven different directions we see a wide variety of spinal patterns. Each paten’s care is custom tailored for their age, condition and health goals.
[ Section 3 ]
  • Can I adjust myself?
No. Some people can make their joints ‘pop’ but that’s not an adjustment. Worse damage can occur by mobilizing adjoining with weakened muscle and ligaments. Adjustments are specific and take years to master, even your chiropractor must consult a colleague to get adjusted.
  • How many adjustments will I need?
The number of adjustments varies with each individual’s health goals.
  • Why do newborns get an adjustment?
Natural childbirth is an enormous stress to a newborn and subluxations can occur at birth stunting normal function.
  • Can I have chiropractic care after back surgery?
Yes. It is very important to do so because surgery often causes instability above or below the involved areas.
  • Can patients with osteoporosis get chiropractic care?
Of course. When generating a care plan your chiropractic doctor considers the unique circumstances of each patient. There are many ways to adjust the spine.
  • How long until I will feel better?
Some people can have instant relief, while others may take many weeks or months. Many factors affect the healing process.
  • Why don’t medical practitioners and chiropractic doctors get along?
That’s changing. Years of prejudice and bias are giving way to research showing the benefits of chiropractic care. Attitudes are slow to change. However as the public demands alternatives to drugs and surgery, more and more medical practitioners are referring their patient to our office.
